The Secret Garden Pilates Society: Our First Ever Event & Why I’m Already Counting Down to the Next One
I’ve been sitting with this one, trying to find the right words. Because some evenings just stay with you, don’t they? Last night was one of those.
We held the very first Secret Garden Pilates Society event at the gorgeous Weston Hall Hotel, and honestly? It surpassed everything I had imagined when I first dreamed this up.
How It All Began
If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know that I’m always looking for ways to bring wellness experiences that feel a little bit different. Not just a class. Not just a session. But something that genuinely moves you in every sense of the word.
The idea of Pilates in a secret garden felt like a perfect blend of everything I love: movement, nature, calm, and a touch of magic. Weston Hall Hotel has this stunning private garden that honestly looks like something from a fairy tale, and the moment I discovered it, I knew I had to create something special there.
The Night Itself
Last night, as our guests arrived and settled into the garden, something lovely happened… the sun came out. ☀️
Now, if you live in the UK, you’ll know that’s never guaranteed. But there it was, golden and warm, casting the most beautiful light across the garden as we moved through our Pilates session together. I don’t think I could have scripted it better if I’d tried.
The setting was just breathtaking. Lush greenery all around us, the gentle sounds of the outdoors, soft music, and a group of incredible people all showing up for themselves. There’s something so powerful about practising Pilates outside, it grounds you in a way that four walls simply can’t. You breathe differently. You feel differently. You move differently.
By the end of the session, I looked around at the smiling faces and felt the most wonderful sense of joy and gratitude. This is exactly why I do what I do.
What Made It So Special
It wasn’t just the Pilates (although it was a great session, even if I do say so myself! 😄). It was the whole experience. The calm, the connection, the beauty of the surroundings, the feeling of having completely stepped away from the noise of everyday life for an hour or so.
That’s what Secret Garden Pilates Society is all about. It’s not just a workout it’s a proper wellness escape. A moment to exhale, reset, and remember how good it feels to just be. You can read more about the benefits of Pilates outdoors here
