March Round up and April New start

What a beautifully full 2 weeks it’s been since Blackpool… it’s flown by.

After returning from a whirlwind experience at IFS and Blackpool I’ve been on a real high. I presented at Somalates for the first time and it went down a storm with the Fit Pros.

This month my birthday month brings a new energy. Today offers a completely different kind of magic with the starting Pilates Pyjama Club.

But, with all the busyness, here’s a gentle reminder about supporting the nervous system

This week, I wanted to bring the focus back to something that underpins everything we do, nervous system balance.

At its core, nervous system regulation is your body’s natural ability to shift between action and rest. To rise to a challenge… and then soften afterwards.

When this rhythm is working well, you feel steady, clear, and resilient.

When the Body Feels “Stuck”

You might notice it as:

- Feeling exhausted, yet unable to fully relax

- A busy mind that won’t quieten

- Interrupted or restless sleep

- Ongoing tightness or tension in the body

- A sense of overwhelm or emotional reactivity

- Low energy paired with a constant underlying buzz

- Slower recovery after exercise

It’s more common than we think and often goes unnoticed for years.

As we move through midlife, the body becomes more sensitive to stress.

Hormonal shifts can amplify how we experience pressure, recovery may take longer, and the body can hold onto tension more easily.

This is why simply “doing more” isn’t always the answer.

The body needs to feel safe before it can truly respond, adapt, and change.

Practices like Somalates offer more than just physical benefits, they create space for the nervous system to reset.

Here’s how:

🧘 Breath-led movement encourages slower, deeper breathing patterns that gently guide the body into a calmer state.

🧘‍♀️ fluid, intentional exercise helps release held tension while restoring a sense of ease and control.

🧘‍♀️ body connection and posture builds a feeling of inner support—both physically and emotionally.

🧘‍♀️ mobility and soft stretching invites the body to let go of tightness and stored stress.

🧘‍♀️ present-moment awareness shifts attention away from mental overload and back into the body.

🧘‍♀️ restorative endings allows the system to fully down-regulate, supporting better sleep and recovery.

When the nervous system feels supported, everything else begins to shift more naturally, your energy lifts, sleep deepens, and progress feels easier and more sustainable.

Take a moment this week to slow things down, even briefly. Your body will thank you for it.

If you’d like to join us for the Somalates series… we start today 🥰 comment SOMA and I’ll tag you.
